n a Chat bot email I received from cncmachines.com, I was asked was the Controller a Gen 6. Yes, it is. I cannot tell from the screen so I found the original PO to CI July 6, 2021 where it is listed as “GEN6-15”HMIRPLC” which was for the Gen 6 controls with the 15” monitor/housing that would replace the old style controller but fit on the same arm made of pipe.
In the Photo’s below, I took more photos today including the inside of the controller. The brake has not been used much since the original photo’s; I took a picture with my watch with the date on it. The reason why is so they can see the dry dust on it to show it is not leaking on the seals. The only little bit of oil visible was around the sight glass.
The maintenance dept. sticker with the date of last oil change was removed when the unit was repainted with the other 2 older press brakes. It should be ready for an oil change so if your customer wants us to drain it before shipping, we can do that in addition to disconnecting the electrical connection.
One alteration to the controller is that we added a fan to the controller on one side and an opening on the other side with a channel to slide filter media into it. We changed the media when the unit was repainted but have not used the unit since then. We did that back before the shop was air conditioned in the early 2000’s. Since then we run the unit in AC all the time. As you can see on the interior of the controller, if anything was replaced it was done properly, and the wiring was always left organized. I say this because I think only 1 small PCB and a power supply was replaced since I took over the company in 2001. Other than that this unit works like it should, I have 5 press brakes and only two operators. I chose to sell this one because the back gauge is not as many axis’ as the other 4 brakes.
