If you’re coming from lighter turning centers and want more bed length, more torque, and a heavier casting, this HTL8-60i checks a lot of boxes. The gap-bed design provides extra clearance near the chuck, making it easier to handle larger diameters and longer parts without fighting the machine.

This platform is well suited for long parts, shafts, bushings, and general turning work where rigidity and stability matter. It works well for short to medium production runs and repeat jobs. The easy-to-learn control and full handwheel and manual modes add flexibility that can speed up setups and adjustments, which helps streamline turnaround on first articles and one-off work without limiting production capability.

Hurco’s MAX5 / WinMax conversational control is a smooth transition for shops coming from Fanuc or Haas. The manual and handwheel operation make day-to-day adjustments straightforward, helping reduce downtime when jobs change or operators rotate between machines.

From a cutting standpoint, this is a true box-way lathe with real torque, so you can lean on it in steel, stainless, and long parts without the chatter or flex commonly seen on lighter machines.

This machine was taken in on trade after a customer upgraded to a sub-spindle lathe. Sold new in 2023. Clean, low hours, and ready to work. The machine is currently at our rigger just outside Charlotte and ready to ship.
