Used Kitamura CNC Machines
Kitamura Machinery started as the Kitamura Iron Works Company, founded in Takaoka City, Japan, in 1933. Their first product was paper pulp machines, but shifted production to planers in 1960, and created a planer-miller hybrid machine in 1964. Shortly after, Kitamura released a specialized milling machine for the manufacture of bullet train undercarriages.
In the 1980s, Kitamura dove feet-first into machining centers and built horizontal and vertical machining centers almost exclusively. Since then, Kitamura has produced many high-quality machine tools of various types and classification.
Kitamura is best known for its 5-axis automated machine tools, particularly the SUPERCELL-3000. The company has won numerous design and innovation awards, and continues to improve upon its technology year-over-year.

Kitamura CNC Machine Tools
Kitamura machine tools are precisely designed and built, with no shortcuts in either design or manufacture. They are built out of the highest-grade Meehanite Cast Iron and, when coupled with the induction-hardened, solid boxways, possess the mass, stability and damping required to withstand extreme cutting conditions while still maintaining high accuracy.
Hand-crafted performance
All mounted surfaces that require assembly are hand-scraped in order to provide full surface contact and proper alignment. This gives Kitamura machines a high-precision finish and a perfect fit that can’t be accomplished through machines alone.
Contact surfaces are scraped by some of the world’s most experienced machine tool technicians and can as a result machines achieve accuracies of ±0.002mm (±0.000079”) Full Stroke with (±0.000039”) repeatability.
Gear-driven spindles
Unlike some other competing machine tools, the spindles on Kitamura machines are multi-step and gear-driven. This means that motor characteristics do not influence the spindle’s movement, resulting in high-efficiency cutting performance with relatively low energy consumption.
The 4-step gear allows for up to 20,000 rpm spindle speeds, which is one of the world’s fastest speeds available. And yet the spindle is still capable of delivering strong low-end torque and high-end fine finish--all from the same machine.
Intelligent Advance Control System (IAC)
Kitamura machines have an exclusive control system that consists of strategically-located sensors and machine efficiency monitors. These sensors allow the system to control the effects of heat displacement on the machine head to less than ±5 microns, for continuous machining accuracy.
