Machine Overview
Located in Salt Lake City, Utah is a hardworking and robust 2001 HAAS SL20M CNC Lathe. This machine has had its fair share of usage, manufacturing a majority of aluminum materials, with a balance of 1018/4130 bars. The SL20M helped our business prosper for over a decade, and now it's time for it to move on to its next home. The decision to part ways with this machine comes due to an upgrade in our workshop to a 2019 Haas ST20Y. The SL20M CNC Lathe remains a key player in the industry with its striking array of features and capabilities. This includes an HAAS CNC control, Tool Presetter, Bar Feeder, Parts Catcher, Live Tooling, Chip Auger, and High-Intensity Lighting. It is furnished with an 8-inch chuck and comes with additional tooling on a cart. The machine's dimensions measure 124” x 74” x 75”, the weight is 9,000 LBS while offering a bar capacity 2", max swing of 23", max turning length of 24', max turning dia of 10.3' and live tooling speed of 4,000RPM. It has X and Z axis travel of 8.45” and 20" respectively, with a rapid rate of 1,200 IPM for both. Also, it includes a 12 station turret. To date, the machine's servo worked for 2566:20:20 hours, 1245:28:24 in motion and with a spindle of 1306:54:32 hours. A noteworthy consideration for prospective buyers is the presence of a low voltage alarm that triggers when running the spindle over 2,000 rpm. It indicates a mechanical issue requiring attention, but will not impede the overall performance of the machine. The service history of the 2001 HAAS SL20M CNC Lathe is readily available, with most maintenance carried out by our in-house team for over a decade. This gives a clear understanding of the machine's past and the care it has received throughout its working life. This CNC Lathe is instantly available and awaiting its new journey in the manufacturing world. While not without its quirks, it's proven itself as a solid workhorse, driven to perform, and ideal for those who require a CNC lathe but may be on a budget. It's ready to be put to work and will surely be a value-added component to your production line.
